Bright Young Things : 12th March Live Review

Live review of the BYT gig at the Crypt on the 12th March. Performing were Ian Beetlestone, Melvyn, Novacain, Quarry Hill and Three 33.

Kicking proceedings off were Novacain, who performed a lively set. Formed at the beginning of 1998, the band were gigging in and around Leeds during 1999/2000 and are currently taking a break from the live scene to concentrate on recording and producing their debut EP. Lee Bedford lead singer from Novacain said, "We really performed well, for our genre of music we are a good group and really want to push it now to be signed." Lee continued "It was also really great to be the first band to perform live in the Crypt."

Quarry Hill
Following Novacain were Quarry Hill, Mab Savage lead singer was really euphoric after their performance saying "I am absolutely shattered, but our performance was superb. Bright Young Things has really helped us, the recording time we had was great and captured our core sound."

Providing a lively ska performance was Melvyn. Having already been on the 'Next Big Thing' TV programme in the New Year, Melvyn aim to be a hugely popular and successful band and would love to be signed. Tom from the band said, "The Crypt is a great venue, personally I thought our performance was good. We have been together for two years now and started just for fun, now we will just have to see how big we can make it."   byt at the Crypt

Three 33
With a vibrant rock sound were Three 33. Just after they just got off stage Bright Young Things caught up with Adam from the group, Adam said "That was fantastic, performances like this really help us focus on the future and what we want, Bright Young Things has really been a boost for us."

Closing the evening was Ian Beetlestone. This year's only solo artist, Ian has been writing songs and playing the Piano for years. His ambition is to be in a position where he can devote all of his time to writing, recording and playing all types of music.   byt at the Crypt
